Meet the ESD Student Ambassador Program
February 13, 2025
If you’ve ever visited ESD’s campus and talked to a student, you’ve probably discovered that there are so many different opportunities for our Eagles to represent the school. Whether our students perform in the upper school winter musical, play on the basketball team, participate in advanced placement classes, serve in the vestry club, or many other options, this community constantly seeks to plug our students into the school!
One of the many opportunities for students to get involved includes our amazing Student Ambassadors. Through the Admission Office, ESD’s Student Ambassadors represent the school to prospective students and families through guided tours of their favorite areas on campus while connecting with potential new students through various interests.
Virginia Nussbaumer, former co-president of the Student Ambassador Club, described the program as “time, dedication, and continual commitment to our school.” She continued to say, “Our Ambassadors not only spend time before, during, and after school, but they also dedicate time during school holidays and weekends to come talk to families who want to come to ESD. Because of the attitude and personalities of the Ambassador team, the Admission Office receives positive feedback after tours.”
The Student Ambassador club is student-led and requires students to uphold high standards of student conduct. Students can apply to the club for an interview where the Admission Office and outgoing Student Ambassador executive team decide who to welcome as an Ambassador. These candidates must attend meetings regularly and maintain a 3.0 GPA.
The Admission office wants to ensure that there are a variety of interests, academic outcomes, backgrounds, and experiences represented in the Student Ambassador Club so that ESD can be represented to prospective students in various ways. We are so proud of our Eagles, and if you see one of the Ambassadors in the halls, say, “Hi!” But, be careful; they might try to take you on a campus tour!
