Current parents Kelsey and David Davidson Jr, Lindsey and Edward Bogel, and Kailey and Jake Milner create an endowment fund in support of ESD campus security. The fund and gift in support of Our Time to Soar - a Campaign for The Episcopal School of Dallas places permanent funding by endowing and naming the Director of Campus Security.
In the words of David Davidson Jr: “...nothing is more important to parents than the safety of our children and the ESD community is fortunate to be under the watch and care of Jody Trumble, Director of Campus Security. Through this gift, our families express gratitude for Jody and her team and affirm that funding for the safety of our community will always remain a priority.”
Jody Trumble is in her ninth year with ESD. Prior to being appointed ESD’s Director of Campus Security, Jody served in the United States Air Force with rank of Staff Sergeant, then joined the police force of Burleson, Texas, from where she was called back to active duty after September 11, 2001. For almost 17-years she served the city of Burleson during which time she was honored several times for her leadership.
This gift is unique to ESD because of three families joining together to support something important but also because of the multiple connections among the couples. David Davidson Jr and Edward Bogel are ESD alums, members of the class of 2005, while each couple are current parents with one Pre-K’er, two Kindergarteners, and one Second grader among them. Edward Bogel comments: “It’s difficult for David and for me to remember when ESD was not a part of our lives, and now for friend and business partner Jake Milner to join us on this gift - it’s terrific. Dallas is our home, ESD is the school for our children, and we are proud to be able to do something for a place that means so much to so many.”
Upon hearing the good news, Ms. Trumble reflected “I am deeply honored by the gift presented by the Davidson, Bogel, and Milner families. The naming of the Security Director position validates the vital work the Security Team has and continues to do to ensure the ESD campus is a secure environment for our children to learn, play, and grow. This gift underscores the charge given to me by our community and truly speaks to ESD's commitment to safety."
The Davidsons, having established The Kelsey and David Council Davidson, Jr. ’05 Family Endowment Fund in 2023, felt compelled to once again invest in ESD’s endowment and support this worthy purpose in unity with the Bogels and Milners. Together, they join other families in leading the way in support of this endowment campaign. Chaired by Lori and Jerry Jones Jr, Katherine and Eric Reeves, and Lauren and Stephen Swann, the Our Time to Soar campaign celebrates ESD’s 50th anniversary with gifts and pledges of more than $37,000,000, well on the way to raising $50,000,000 for endowment, investing in ESD’s people and programs.
