Annabella Spears Serves As A Patient Ambassador for Children’s Medical Center
September 30, 2024
Annabella Spears '29 is no stranger to Children’s Health. Previously a patient herself, Annabella was born with a life-threatening condition that required an organ transplant at a very young age. Turning to Children’s Health, she and her family spent an extensive amount of time in the hospital, anxiety-stricken yet simultaneously filled with hope thanks to the incredible staff and efforts of the Children’s Health team. Annabella received the necessary care and has since dedicated much of her time to giving back to those who have found themselves in a similar predicament.
For the past 6 years, Annabella and her family have sponsored and decorated a Christmas tree that brightens the Solid Organ Transplant Center lobby at the Children’s Health Dallas campus. It’s a family tradition that they look forward to every year. Over the past several summers, Annabella and her sister Emmeline have also created hope-filled artwork that’s been selected for patient-created note cards sold through The Women’s Auxiliary to Children’s Medical Center.
Now a thriving 14-year-old passionate about volleyball, fine art, and animals, Annabella remains steadfast in her commitment to helping others. This year, she was chosen as a Patient Ambassador for the Children's Medical Center, where she will share her story at various events throughout the year and help promote all the good Children’s does to help families like hers. She has also been invited to participate in the big groundbreaking ceremony for the new pediatric campus.
Cheers to you, Annabella, and many congratulations on such an incredible honor!
